Video Production for Contractors and Home Service Companies

Win the estimate before the appointment, hire people who can do the work, and stay visible between jobs. For contractors across Southeastern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois.

Bokeh Film Production makes video for contractors in Milwaukee and across Southeastern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois: remodelers, builders, roofers, HVAC and plumbing companies, electricians, landscapers, painters, tree services, restoration companies and the trades that support them. Most of our clients are contractors, and the way we work was built around how a contractor’s customers and candidates make decisions.

A homeowner has to let you into their house. A commercial buyer has to trust you with a six-figure project. A good technician has to believe your shop is better than the one down the road. In every case the decision gets made before the first conversation, usually on a phone, usually in under a minute. Video is how you show up in that minute looking like the company they should call.

The three jobs video does for a contractor

1. Trust before the estimate

By the time a homeowner requests a quote, they have looked you up. A brand film on your homepage and Google Business Profile shows the owner, the crew and the finished work, and answers the real question: are these people who I want in my house? Customer testimonials filmed in the finished space do the same job with someone else’s voice.

2. Hiring people who can do the work

For most trades the hard problem is not leads. It is finding technicians, installers and foremen who show up and know the work. A recruiting video shows candidates the shop, the trucks, the crew and the owner before they apply. The right people apply; the wrong ones select themselves out. Run the 30 second cut as a Meta ad within driving distance of your shop and it works fastest.

3. Staying visible between jobs

Referrals have slowed for everyone because people check you out online before they call the name their neighbor gave them. A monthly batch of short job-site videos, posted for you and turned into ads, keeps your company in front of the towns you serve. That is what the monthly partnership is for.

What we film on a contractor job

  • The owner, on site, explaining how the company does the work and why
  • Crews doing the actual work: demo, framing, install, finish
  • Before, during and after of the same project
  • Customers at the walkthrough, in their own words
  • Drone footage of roofs, sites, yards and finished exteriors (FAA Part 107 certified)
  • The shop, the trucks and the morning dispatch
  • Short answers to the questions homeowners ask every week
  • Equipment, materials and the details that show quality

We work around your schedule and your clients’. We stay out of the way on active sites, follow your safety rules, carry our own PPE, and never film a customer’s home without their okay.

Questions contractors ask us

How much does video cost for a contractor?

Brand films start at $3,500 and most land between $3,500 and $6,500. Recruiting videos start at $3,000. One testimonial is $1,800; a half day of two or three is $3,500. A social content shoot day is $1,500. Monthly partnerships run $1,800 to $4,500 per month depending on shoot days and whether we manage your ad campaigns. Every number is on the service pages.

Can you film while my crew is working?

Yes, that is the point. Real work is what homeowners and candidates want to see. We work around your schedule, stay out of the way, follow your safety requirements and carry our own PPE.

Will you fly a drone over my job site?

Yes, with the property owner’s permission and an FAA airspace authorization where one is needed. Our pilot is FAA Part 107 certified. Send us the site address and we will tell you what is possible before the shoot.

How much of my time does this take?

For a single project, a 30 minute planning call and part of one shoot day on camera. For a monthly partnership, about an hour a month. We handle planning, filming, editing, posting and reporting.

Do you need a customer’s permission to film at their house?

Yes, every time, and we help you ask. Most happy customers say yes quickly, especially when they know the visit is about 90 minutes and the finished work gets shown off.

Which video should a contractor start with?

If you are losing estimates you should be winning, a brand film. If you cannot hire, a recruiting video. If your Facebook page has been quiet since spring, a social content day or a monthly partnership. Tell us the problem and we will recommend the smallest project that solves it.

Do you work outside Milwaukee?

Yes. We regularly film in Waukesha, Brookfield, Menomonee Falls, Mequon, Racine, Kenosha and throughout Lake County, Illinois. Travel in those areas is included. See all the areas we serve and our Northern Illinois page.

Your competitors are not doing this yet.
