Bokeh Film Production is based in the Milwaukee area, and our owner is in Lake Forest every week for business networking, with clients and referral partners from Waukegan to Elgin. Northern Illinois is not a stretch territory for us. It is half of where we work.
That matters for two practical reasons. First, there is no travel surcharge: a brand film in Libertyville costs exactly what it costs in Brookfield. Second, we know the area. We know which Lake County venues have usable light at 4 p.m. in January, where the drone airspace gets complicated near Waukegan National, and which chambers and BNI chapters your competitors are in. You are not briefing an out-of-town vendor. You are hiring someone who already knows your market.

Where we work in Illinois
Lake County first, then everything within reach of it
Drive times are from our office in Wauwatosa on a normal weekday morning. We are often already in the area, which makes them shorter.
Lake County
Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, Libertyville, Gurnee, Waukegan, Vernon Hills, Mundelein, Grayslake, Highland Park, Deerfield and Zion. About an hour. Travel is included anywhere in the county, and this is where most of our Illinois relationships are.
McHenry County
McHenry, Crystal Lake, Woodstock, Cary and Algonquin. About an hour and ten minutes. A short travel charge may apply for a single shoot; none for a monthly partnership.
Fox Valley
Elgin, South Elgin, St. Charles and Geneva. About an hour and a half. We have filmed a construction progress project in Elgin, and we treat a multi-visit project here as routine.
Chicago’s northern suburbs
Northbrook, Glenview, Wheeling, Buffalo Grove, Arlington Heights and Lincolnshire. Just over an hour. The same work, the same prices, a short travel charge quoted up front.
Kenosha and Racine
On the way. Kenosha, Pleasant Prairie, Racine and Mount Pleasant are inside our standard Wisconsin service area with no travel charge, and we pass through them every week.
Somewhere else?
Rockford, the western suburbs and the city itself are quoted per project. If the work is right, we go. Tell us the address and we will tell you the travel line before anything else.
The things you only know if you work here
Flying a drone in Lake County is not the same as flying one in Waukesha County. Waukegan National and Chicago Executive are towered airports with controlled airspace around them, the naval station has its own restrictions, and a surprising amount of the county sits inside somebody’s grid.
Our pilot is FAA Part 107 certified. For every Illinois address we check the FAA facility map before we quote, request the LAANC authorization when one is needed (it is usually approved the same day), and tell you up front if a site cannot be flown. The aerial shot of your building or job site is one of the most persuasive things on your website, and we would rather tell you on the call than on the day.
The same goes for the rest of the logistics: early call times are normal for us, we book a hotel for multi-day shoots so the second morning starts on time, and we know the venues, the chambers and the referral groups along the North Shore well enough to be useful beyond the camera.
