Video Production for Schools

Enrollment films, gala videos and event coverage that show families what a day at your school actually feels like. For private, parochial, Lutheran, Catholic and charter schools across Southeastern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois.

Bokeh Film Production makes video for schools in Milwaukee and across Southeastern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois: private and parochial schools, Lutheran and Catholic schools, charter schools, early childhood centers and the organizations that support them.

A family choosing a school is making one of the biggest decisions they will make, and they make most of it before they ever schedule a tour. Your website, your social pages and the video a friend forwards them are the tour. A good school video does not list programs. It shows a teacher kneeling next to a desk, a hallway at 7:45 in the morning, a kid who is clearly glad to be there. Parents know it when they see it, and that is what fills the open house.

What video does for a school

1. Fills the enrollment funnel

A two minute school story film on your homepage and your admissions page does the first visit for you. Families watch it before they call, and the ones who show up to the open house already feel like they know the place. A 30 second cut runs as a Meta ad to parents within driving distance during enrollment season.

2. Raises money at the gala

The film that plays before the paddle raise is the most important five minutes of your fundraising year. We produce gala and annual fund films that put students, teachers and families on screen telling the story of what the school does for them. Done well, it is the difference between a quiet room and a room that gives.

3. Keeps families and alumni connected

Chapel, the Christmas program, field day, the science fair, graduation. Each one is a video your families will share and a post that reaches the prospective family next door. A monthly or seasonal batch of short videos keeps your social pages alive without putting the job on a teacher.

4. Hires the teachers you need

Schools compete for teachers the same way contractors compete for tradespeople. A recruiting video that shows your culture, your classrooms and your staff is the best thing you can attach to a job posting.

What we film at a school

  • Classrooms during real lessons, from kindergarten reading circles to high school labs
  • Teachers, administrators and the principal in their own words
  • Parents and students on why they chose the school and why they stayed
  • Chapel, music, athletics, arts and the moments that define your culture
  • Galas, auctions, open houses and groundbreakings, filmed and turned around fast
  • The campus and the neighborhood from the air with drone footage (FAA Part 107 certified)
  • Spanish-language versions for bilingual programs and families
  • School photo days and event photography alongside the video

We work inside your photo and media release process and never film a student who is not cleared. Our team is used to classrooms: we stay quiet, work fast and leave the lesson alone. Most school films are one shoot day during a normal week.

Recent school work

Recent projects include an enrollment marketing film for a Lutheran school in West Allis, a “faith in action” film for a Catholic parish school, and a gala film for a Milwaukee school that premiered at its annual fundraiser. More is on our work page.

What it costs

Single projects: school story and enrollment films from $3,500, most land between $3,500 and $6,500. Gala and annual fund films are scoped the same way. A social content shoot day, 8 to 12 short videos from one day on campus, $1,500. Event coverage with a recap video from $2,500. Teacher recruiting videos from $3,000. Drone footage of campus added to any shoot for $450.

Questions schools ask us

How much does a school marketing video cost?

School story and enrollment films start at $3,500 and most land between $3,500 and $6,500 depending on how many days we film and how many cuts you need. That includes the main film, a 30 second cut for ads and vertical clips for social. Event coverage with a recap starts at $2,500.

How do you handle student privacy and media releases?

We follow your media release process exactly. Before the shoot you give us the list of students who are cleared, and we film around anyone who is not. If your policy requires it, we can frame shots so students are not individually identifiable. You approve the final edit before it is published.

When should we film for enrollment season?

Fall and early winter, while school is in session and before open houses and application deadlines. A film shot in October is ready for January enrollment events and Meta ads through the spring. Summer shoots are possible but empty classrooms do not sell a school.

Can you turn a gala video around on a short timeline?

Yes. Tell us the gala date and we will work backward. Most gala films are filmed four to six weeks out and delivered a week before the event so your committee can review it. For event coverage of the gala itself, highlights are usually delivered within the week.

Do you do photography too?

Yes. We can add school photo days, event photography and classroom stills to a video shoot, which is often the most efficient way to get both done.

Do you work with schools outside Milwaukee?

Yes. We film throughout Southeastern Wisconsin, including Waukesha, Ozaukee, Racine and Kenosha counties, and in Lake County, Illinois. Travel in those areas is included. See all the areas we serve and our Northern Illinois page.

Enrollment season is closer than it looks.

Tell us what you need the video to do, fill seats, raise money or hire teachers, and we will scope it. Written scope and price within two business days.
